Karma Vinyasa Class for Karma Krew

Just wanted to take a moment to thank Elaine in sharing in her idea to donate her time on her birthday and give a free yoga class to the students of Moksha with the purpose of practicing yoga and dedicating our practice and efforts to a cause.

We raised $225 for Karma Krew, a non-profit, charitable organization whose personal mantra is "Do Good Things". It is their mission, with our help, to infuse the world with more positive energy by promoting acts of kindness, service, and community outreach in its many forms.

I would also like to thank all the students who took a moment, by either donating or practicing yoga with us, to step outside of themselves and do a little good in the world! By coming together as a community and taking small steps to make changes in our lives and the lives of others, we are cultivating universal growth and postive change for the future!

Thanks to Karma Krew for inspiring us to "Do Good Things."

Namaste!

KID'S YOGA DAY!

Monica and I would like to thank everyone who came to Moksha's Free Kid's Yoga Day! We had so much fun, perhaps even more fun than the kids!

The first class was so fun and sweet filled with giggles and silly poses and we went on a very cool adventure to the beach, played Toga and Yoga Freeze.  The second class was full of extra extra silliness, shouting, laughter and super cool yoga poses! We played cool games like When the Big Wind Blows and Yogi Says!

From all the howling, barking and shouting chataranga I lost my voice by the end of the day trying to keep up with the big kids! It was such a treat and we hope to get to share yoga with the kids again wether in one of the scheduled classes we have now or in the future!

Deliciously smelling treat!

What a treat it was to have Yamilee visit us a couple of weeks ago for the aromatherapy playshop! We got to learn about the properties and benefits of approx. 20 essential oils. We made bath salts and a body scrub that smelled great! Yamilee gave us some recipes and references that I thought I would share with anyone who is interested so enjoy!

RECIPES:
To sooth sore muscles: Add the following essential oils to 2 ounces of a carrier oil (sweet almond oil, grapeseed oil or a light sesame seed oil): 2 drops each of Pine, Benzoin, Eucalyptus, Frankincense, Peppermint and Rosemary.

To refresh yourself during flights and reydrate your skin (this was fabulous!): Add 2 drops rose essential oil, 1 drop neroli essential oil and 1 drop sandalwood essential oil to 1 oz. filtered water and put in a spray bottle.

Make sure you always keep your finished recipes in dark containers to preserve the properties of the essential oils and make sure when you buy your oils they are in dark glass bottles and are pure essential oils!

KW workshop was fabulous!

What a pleasant day with Kimberly last Sunday! The day started out with a fun, upbeat flowing vinyasa class that worked up quiet a sweat. After lunch we enjoyed a delicious yin practice consisting of long, slow and deep holds. I could have fallen asleep it was so relaxing! We ended the day with a wicked thunderstorm, tea and cookies, great conversation, book signing by Kimberly and a look at her fabulous clothing line, TranquiliT! Did anyone purchase any of the clothing? It was extra soft, comfy and very hip!

It was a pleasure meeting some new faces such as Grace, the owner of Grace Yoga in Stuart and Jaye, one of her instructors. And thanks to Kimberly coming, I got to meet Yamilee who is going to host an Aromatherapy Playshop on August 10th. We are going to learn how to make some of our own aromatherapy skincare products, how fabulous is that! Be sure to visit our website for more info.

The Town-Crier came by for a visit to do a little article about Kimberly, the studio and the students so that was a treat! If you haven't read the article go to gotowncrier.com. Thanks to Kimberly and Bonnie for the words of wisdom and experience and to Danielle for posing with me for the snapshot!

I wanted to thank everyone for coming and sharing in a day full of fun and community with me!
And thanks to Kimberly for visiting us from DC and sharing her inspiration, passion and creativity with us! I hope everyone enjoyed the day as much as I did! Feel free to post some comments about the day and your experience.

Our Silly Weekend...

What a wonderful weekend we had with Amanda from Karma Kids Yoga of NYC! We shook our sillies out, discovered animal noises we didn't even know we were capable of making, hopped around like bunnies, kangaroos, ducks and frogs, walked on all fours, shook our doggie legs and doggie tails, went on a roller coaster ride, made lots of delicious treats, surfed then swam with our sea friends, flew all over the place, became a giant sunflower and caterpillar, played yoga freeze, when the big wind blows and pom pom breath race, danced, laughed till we cried, floated away on a cloud and the list could go on! I would have to say that this was the most fun I have had at a teacher training, EVER!!! And I think my silly yogis who attended would agree! We had a blast!

I just wanted to thank everyone for being there and making the weekend such a fantastic, silly and inspiring experience! And big props to Amanda, Sherri and Jessica from Karma Kids for sharing this amazing program with us, giving us the opportunity to put smiles on children's faces! Much love to you all!
